Terms of Service
Effective Date: September 16, 2025
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“you,” “user,” “Pet Owner,” or “Service Provider”) and I Am Pet Care Inc. (“I Am Pet Care,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using any part of the I Am Pet Care platform—including our website, mobile apps, and services—you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not access or use our services.
2. Who We Are
I Am Pet Care Inc. provides a digital platform connecting pet owners with trusted service providers offering:
- Pet sitting
- Pet daycare
- Grooming services
- Dental cleaning
- Pet food subscriptions
- Pet supplements and collagen formulas
- Certified training programs
3. Eligibility
To use our services, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old (or legal age of majority in your region)
- Have the authority to enter a binding legal agreement
- Provide accurate, complete, and current information
Accounts found in violation may be suspended or terminated.
4. Account Registration
Users must create an account to access booking features. During registration, you agree to:
- Provide true, current, and complete data
- Maintain confidentiality of your login credentials
- Notify us of unauthorized use immediately
We reserve the right to refuse service, close accounts, or cancel bookings in our sole discretion.
5. User Roles
a. Pet Owners
Individuals seeking services for their pets.
b. Service Providers
Professionals or businesses offering pet care services. Service Providers must:
- Pass a background check
- Provide proof of certification (if applicable)
- Agree to I Am Pet Care standards and code of conduct
6. Services & Bookings
All services booked via I Am Pet Care are subject to availability. By booking, you agree:
- To pay the displayed fee, including applicable taxes and service charges
- That we may facilitate payment and issue confirmation on behalf of providers
- To communicate transparently and respectfully with providers
Service Providers agree to honor bookings made through the platform unless otherwise stated.
7. Pricing, Payments, and Fees
- Payments are processed securely via third-party gateways (Stripe, PayPal, etc.)
- I Am Pet Care may charge a platform fee (percentage-based or flat rate)
- Providers receive payment after service completion, minus applicable fees
- Currency is CAD unless otherwise noted
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy (see Section 12).
8. Cancellations & Refunds
Policies may differ per provider and service type. Generally:
- Full refund: If canceled 24+ hours before the service
- Partial refund: If canceled within 24 hours
- No refund: For no-shows or cancellations after service begins
Exceptions may apply for emergencies or platform error.
9. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for illegal or fraudulent purposes
- Harass, threaten, or exploit any user
- Post false or misleading information
- Circumvent or bypass platform processes
Violation of these terms may result in account suspension or legal action.
10. Background Checks & Safety
We perform limited background screenings on Service Providers in select jurisdictions. However:
- We do not guarantee the identity, safety, or reliability of users
- Pet Owners are encouraged to use due diligence when selecting providers
- We are not liable for incidents outside our control
11. Reviews and Ratings
Users may submit ratings and written reviews. By doing so, you agree:
- You have firsthand experience with the subject of your review
- Reviews must not contain offensive, defamatory, or false content
- I Am Pet Care may moderate or remove content at its sole discretion
- Reviews may be used in promotional or analytical materials
12. Refund & Dispute Resolution Policy
a. Refunds
Refunds are processed in accordance with our cancellation terms (Section 8). To initiate a refund request, contact support within 7 days of service.
b. Dispute Resolution
- Users agree to first attempt resolution via I Am Pet Care support
- If unresolved, disputes will be handled through binding arbitration in Ontario, Canada, under the Arbitration Act, 1991 (Ontario)
- Users waive the right to class action lawsuits
13. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, logos, graphics, software, and platform architecture are owned or licensed by I Am Pet Care Inc. and protected under:
- Canadian Copyright Act
- U.S. Copyright Law
- EU Intellectual Property Directives
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute content without express permission.
14. Third-Party Services and Integrations
We may integrate with third-party tools and platforms. By using these services, you acknowledge:
- You are subject to the third party’s terms of use and privacy policy
- We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or content of external services
- Your data may be shared securely for necessary operational functions
15. Limitation of Liability
- I Am Pet Care is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to our services
- Maximum liability for claims shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the disputed service
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless I Am Pet Care, its officers, affiliates, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, or liabilities arising from:
- Your use of the platform
- Violation of these Terms
- Any content you post or transmit
17. Termination
We reserve the right to:
- Suspend or terminate accounts without notice for breach of terms
- Remove content that violates our guidelines
- Deny access to users acting in bad faith or harming the community
Upon termination, any pending transactions or balances may be withheld for up to 30 days for investigation or legal purposes.
18. Compliance with Global Laws
Our operations and data handling comply with:
- PIPEDA (Canada)
- GDPR (EU/EEA)
- CCPA (California, USA)
Users may exercise their rights under each applicable regulation, including access, correction, and deletion of personal data.
19. Children’s Protection
Our platform is not intended for users under 13 (or the age of digital consent in their jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. Parents or guardians may request data removal via Contact@iampetcare.ca.
20. Updates to the Terms
We may modify these Terms periodically. The latest version will be posted on our website with the effective date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
